Their fomo name
is the address.

Connect your fomo wallet, type a fomo name, and write.

Look up a fomo name live
@

Looked up on fomoscan, checked against Robinhood Chain — live. Most of fomo is in no explorer; those names are reachable all the same.

How it works

Two steps, and one of them is typing a name.

01

Type your name, connect your wallet

Your fomo name and one signature from the wallet behind it, in the same click. No transaction, no gas, no network switch — and no wallet from outside fomo gets past it.

02

Write to anyone

Type someone's fomo name and send. It lands in their inbox — and if they have never opened fomo chat, it waits there until they do.

The gate

The chain decides who gets in.

A wallet made by the fomo app is not an ordinary wallet. It is an EIP-7702 account on Robinhood Chain, and its address carries a delegation pointing at fomo's own implementation. One RPC call reads it. An ordinary wallet has no code at all, so it cannot pretend — there is no list to be added to, no invite to hand out, and nothing to fake in a browser console.

Names

The name is the mailbox.

Messages are addressed to a fomo name, not to a wallet. fomoscan only indexes the traders it has seen, so building on it would leave most of fomo unreachable. Write to a name nobody has claimed yet and the message simply waits for them.

  • Everyone is reachable.Type any fomo name. If they have never been here, the message sits in that name's inbox until the day they connect their fomo wallet.
  • One name per wallet. You claim your name once, from a wallet the chain recognises. It cannot be moved to another wallet afterwards.
  • Only some names can be proven.fomo does not publish which wallet owns which handle. Where fomoscan lists a verified wallet, only that wallet may claim the name and it shows as verified. Every other name is first come among fomo wallets and is marked unverified wherever it appears — the app never implies a check it could not make.

Straight answers

What this is, and what it isn't.

  • A closed room.Only fomo wallets sign in. Outsiders cannot read, write, or be written to.
  • No forms, and no pretending.Every wallet is checked against the chain. A name fomoscan can tie to that wallet is marked verified; one it cannot is marked unverified, in plain words, wherever it appears.
  • Mute works properly.Mute someone and their messages are refused when they hit send. Nothing lands in your thread to be found later.
  • Not end-to-end encrypted.Messages sit on this server so the other side can read them later. Treat it like any hosted inbox — do not put keys or secrets in it.
  • Not on-chain.Your wallet signs once, to prove it is yours. It never signs a message and never pays gas to send one.
  • Not a token. There is nothing to buy here. It is a messenger for people who already have a fomo account.

FAQ

Questions people ask first.

My wallet is from fomo, but it says it is not recognised.

The delegation that marks a fomo wallet is written the first time that wallet does something on Robinhood Chain. A wallet that has never transacted has no code yet, so there is nothing to recognise. Make one transaction from it and try again.

Why do I have to claim my name at all?

When you connect, all this app sees is an address — nothing turns a wallet back into a fomo name. So you tell it your name once, and from then on that is your mailbox and the name people see on your messages.

Can someone claim my name before I do?

If fomoscan lists a verified wallet for your name, no — only that wallet can claim it. If it does not, then yes, in principle, until you claim it yourself: fomo publishes nothing that ties an ordinary handle to a wallet, so no app on the outside can prove ownership. That is why such names carry an unverified mark here instead of a checkmark. Claim yours and nobody else can take it.

What happens if I write to someone who has never opened this?

The message waits in their inbox. The moment they connect the wallet their fomo account verified, it is there.

Does it cost anything to send?

No. Signing in is a signature, not a transaction — no gas, no approval, no spend. Sending is just a message.

Which chain is this?

Robinhood Chain, id 4663 — the chain fomo wallets live on. It is only ever read from, and only to check that a wallet is a fomo wallet.

The family already has your name.
